Schletter Inc., manufacturer of solar mounting systems, announces the release of the FS ECO, an all-steel photovoltaic (PV) ground-mounted system with no costly on-site fabrication, large cranes or special tools needed.
Designed for traditional south-facing installations, as well as unique east-west oriented applications, the new system will be on display at the Intersolar North America 2012 trade show on 10-12 July at the Moscone Centre (booth 9223) in San Francisco, California, US.
From a company which is known for providing high-quality aluminium PV mounting systems, Schletter has applied decades of solar mounting experience to an entirely new product line, using all steel components. Based on the engineering advancements of the Schletter FS System installed in many large PV installations, the new FS ECO steel mounting system provides a lower price point for clients looking for quality and affordability.
According to Martin Hausner, president of Schletter, while aluminium provides the longest installed lifespan possible, the market also demands a quality, cost-effective alternative to aluminium. The FS ECO is cost-competitive and is engineered in a way that minimises installation costs.
The new FS ECO system allows the same flexible module configurations as the FS System. The company states the system includes the necessary posts (foundations) for a rammed/driven installation. The proprietary steel post shape is, first, cold-rolled and then hot-dipped galvanised for extended product longevity.
