Saint-Gobain Solar today announced that LightSwitch ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, a transparent polymer that is used instead of glass and plastic in many modern buildings) is the only thin-film fluoropolymer material that is registered with an Underwriters Laboratory (UL) relative thermal index (RTI) of 150ºC, signifying excellent long-term durability for film thickness, down to 12.5 micrometres (µm) or 0.0005 inch.
