IPVEA Favors ‘Free Market PV Economy’

A joint initiative of members of the EU solar cell and panel manufacturing industry is requesting the European Commission to investigate whether Chinese competitors dumped PV products at below-market rates on regional markets, the International Photovoltaic Equipment Association (IPVEA) has announced.
Additionally, IPVEA says it favors a “free market PV economy” and is “generally also against imposition of any punitive tariffs.”

Canadian Solar, China Development Bank Sign C$93 Million Loan Agreement

Canadian Solar today announced that it has signed a C$93 million (US$93.8 million) loan agreement with China Development Bank.
The loan facility has a five-year maturity and will be used to partially finance the previously announced C$185 million (US$186.6 million) acquisition of a majority interest in 16 solar projects representing approximately 190MW to 200MW DC owned by the former SkyPower Limited.
VDMA Speaks Out Against EU ProSun

The 100 member companies of VDMA Photovoltaic Equipment, manufacturers of components, machinery and equipment for photovoltaics in Germany, have come out against the anti-dumping proceedings submitted to the European Commission by EU ProSun at the end of July.
“Instead of calling for protectionist measures, we should rather concentrate on our strengths and pave the way towards competitiveness of photovoltaics in Germany,” said Dr. Eric Maiser, managing director of VDMA Photovoltaic Equipment. “The PV supplier industry has to focus on its technology leadership on international markets even more intense than in the past.”
China Sunergy, V2M Expand in Eastern Europe

China Sunergy Co., Ltd., a specialised solar cell and module manufacturer, today announced that it had agreed to supply 50 megawatts (MW) in multicrystalline photovoltaic (PV) modules to its Bulgarian partner, V2M, and its affiliates for projects in Romania and Macedonia, in the third and fourth quarters of 2012. V2M Ltd., a Bulgarian solar system developer and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor established in 2010 by Valeri Yankov and MAT Ltd., recently completed its 2.2MW Orlova Mogila solar park project near Dobrich on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast with modules supplied by China Sunergy.
ZNShine, Ampt Partner to Launch Optimised Solar Modules
