Since the Brazilian Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (ANEEL; also known as the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency) released new legislation regarding solar power in April 2012, there has been an explosion of interest in the Brazilian solar market. The Empresa de Pesquisa Energetica (EPE) is the research arm of the Ministry of Mines and Energy in Brazil. In the EPE's comprehensive 60-page report, released just weeks ago, they cover everything from Brazil's solar resources and existing incentives to the potential industrial value chain and the competitiveness of both distributed and centralised generation. The report was commissioned to instruct the Ministry of Mines and Energy in their decision-making processes for solar policy.

Locus Energy’s LGate 350 data acquisition systemLocus Energy today announced its LGate 350, a plug-and-play data acquisition system designed to collect performance data from commercial- and utility-scale solar PV installations. The standard configuration combines a revenue-grade power meter and Modbus-enabled datalogger pre-wired in an outdoor-rated enclosure. The LGate 350 can also be specified to collect data from a variety of peripheral devices and meteorological sensors.
